Women Aware’s Executive Director, Phyllis Adams, has been selected as a 2015 New Jersey Women of Achievement award recipient. Phyllis joined Women Aware in 2007. Under her leadership, Women Aware’s budget has grown by 35% and expanded its services to include permanent supportive housing, batterers’ intervention, and domestic violence liaisons.
Sponsored by the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs of GFWC and Douglass Residential College, the award celebrates the significant accomplishments of distinguished women in New Jersey who have demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, humanitarianism, philanthropy, community service, the arts, and public service. Past honorees include former Governor Christine Todd Whitman, athlete Althea Gibson, US Representative Millicent Fenwick, and author Mary Higgins Clark.
We would like to congratulate Phyllis, and thank the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs of GFWC and Douglass Residential College for their support.
